Throughout the ages diamonds have always been considered a delicacy, a serene and pure object that mostly held connection with royalty and wealth, not only because of its aesthetic value, but also of its scarcity. In those ages technology was not as advanced and developed as it is today and if by chance a diamond was found, it was held with highest regard.

The following is a brief look into diamonds and how they came to be from the earth into your diamond ring:

The word diamond originated from the Greek word ‘adamás’, adamás meaning unconquerable or unbreakable. The Ancient Greeks had a few beliefs regarding diamonds, one such belief being diamonds were fragments of the stars that fell to Earth; others believed diamonds were the tears of the gods.

Hundreds of years ago diamonds held a strong connection with magic; it was believed that diamonds possessed magical qualities from the gods. Kings, queens and their royal subjects often owned diamonds because of the strong belief of magic about the stone; kings of the olden days wore leather breast plates embedded with diamonds and other valuable stones thus causing warriors to avoid kings and others who had diamonds on their breast plates.
